MP Yasir Naqvi Visits Causeway

Causeway was pleased to welcome MP Yasir Naqvi for a visit this afternoon!

MP Naqvi joined Executive Director Owen Freiheit, Director of Operations Chelsea Clendinning, and Director of Finance & Administration Julie Jenkins for a tour of Causeway’s Wellness Centre, Employment Resource Centre, and social enterprises.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the skilled trades employment pipelines Causeway is developing alongside our community partners, and how this work can support federal priorities around workforce development, housing, and creating meaningful pathways to employment.

The group also discussed federal social procurement and the important role government purchasing can play in supporting social enterprises, creating employment opportunities for people who face barriers to work, and generating greater community impact.

Thank you, MP Naqvi, for taking the time to visit Causeway and for the engaging conversation about opportunities to strengthen employment pathways in our community!
